MiLB Recaps: Timo Leads Toledo to Win

May 3rd Games

AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Toledo 7, Pawtucket 2
14-13, 3rd in West Division

The Mud Hens wrapped up their road trip strong with a 7-2 victory over Pawtucket on Tuesday. Duane Below got the win for tossing six strong innings, giving up two runs on seven hits with three walks and five strikeouts. Fu-Te Ni also had a nice outing in relief, tossing two shutout innings with four strikeouts. At the plate, Timo Perez couldn't be kept off the bases, going 4-for-5 with a run scored and an RBI. Victor Martinez in his final rehab game also went 2-for-4 with a double, scoring a run and driving in another before exiting. Cale Iorg was the final notable, belting a two run home run.

AA Erie Seawolves - PPD: RAIN
10-13, 6th in Western Division

The SeaWolves and Binghamton were rained out and will be made up as part of a doubleheader on May 31.

A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Lakeland 3, Clearwater 1
13-13, 3rd in North Division

It was a new opponent, but unfortunately the same result as the Flying Tigers fell to Clearwater this time, 3-1. Trevor Feeney took the loss but had a strong outing, giving up three runs (two earned) on nine hits in seven innings of work. He also walked one and struck out eight. The offense however remained quiet. Gustavo Nunez had two hits and a walk, and also scored the team's only run and swiped a base. Brent Wyatt also added two hits in the losing effort.

A West Michigan Whitecaps - Fort Wayne 2, West Michigan 0
8-16, t-7th in Eastern division

The joy of getting the monkey off their backs was short lived as a day after snapping their 11 game losing skid, the Whitecaps fell again to Fort Wayne, 2-0. Kyle Ryan got the start and took the loss but pitched well, giving up both runs on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings of work. He also walked two and struck out five. Steve Crnkovich pitched the rest of the game, not allowing a hit in the final 1 1/3 innings. The 'Caps offense put together just five hits, with the only extra base hit coming as a double from Ryan Enos. Luis Castillo also had two hits.
