AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Lehigh Valley 3, Toledo 1
15-18, 3rd in West Division
The Mud Hens fell to Lehigh Valley on Tuesday in a game played in the morning as the Hens do a couple of times per year, falling 3-1. Adam Wilk got the start and took the loss despite turning in a quality start, giving up three runs in seven innings of work. He also walked none and struck out six. Lester Oliveros tossed two scoreless innings of relief after Wilk, but the Toledo offense couldn't get much going, managing just five hits. Three of those hits came from Andy Dirks, who drove in Argenis Diaz, who went 2-for-4, for the club's only run.
AA Erie Seawolves - Erie 8, Akron 5
15-15, 3rd in Western Division
Erie picked up an 8-5 win over Akron on Tuesday as they extended their winning streak to four. Mark Sorenson got the start and picked up the win, giving up one unearned run on seven hits in six innings of work. The 'Wolves then used four relievers to shut the door, with Chance Ruffin recording the final five outs, including three strikeouts, to pick up the save. Ben Guez ripped a double and a triple for the club while driving in three runs to help lead the way. Brandon Douglas also had two hits and scored twice while Jamie Johnson got on base three times and drove in a run.
A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Lakeland 10, St. Lucie 2
16-16, 3rd in North Division
The Flying Tigers got back up to .500 on Tuesday with a 10-2 drubbing off St. Lucie. Jay Voss got the start and picked up the win, giving up two runs in six innings of work. He also walked one and struck out for. Matt Little tossed two shutout innings of relief, and Michael Morrison closed the game out with a scoreless inning as well. The story though came on offense, where the Flying Tigers plated ten runs on 13 hits. Jordan Lennerton belted a three run homer and drove in four runs total, while Wade Gaynor added a two run blast as he went 2-for-4 and scored twice. Brent Wyatt also had two hits and two RBI and scored once.
A West Michigan Whitecaps - GM1: South Bend 6, West Michigan 1
GM2: West Michigan 5, South Bend 0
14-18, t-6th in Eastern division
The Whitecaps split a doubleheader with South Bend on Tuesday, falling in the first game 6-1 but taking the second in a 5-0 shutout win. Antonio Cruz took the loss in the first game, allowing five runs on seven hits in five innings of work. Logan Hoch gave up the final run in his two innings of relief. Ryan Hamme drove in Nick Castellanos after a triple for the club's only run. Jeff Ferrell though stepped up in the second game and got some run support to go with it. Ferrell got the win, tossing five shutout innings, allowing just three hits while striking out five. Patrick Cooper didn't allow a run in the final two innings to complete the shutout. Hernan Perez ripped a solo home run while Luis Castillo added two hits and drove in a run.
