AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Toledo 13, Gwinnett 1
18-19, 3rd in West Division
Toledo put on a show on the road as they hammered Gwinnett 13-1. Andy Oliver was the beneficiary of all of the run support, of course he didn't need much as he was outstanding himself. Oliver earned the win, going seven innings, allowing one run on three hits, walking two and striking out five. Matt Hoffman tossed two perfect innings of relief to wrap things up. At the plate, Danny Worth and Scott Thorman each belted three run homers, while Argenis Diaz and Max St. Pierre combined for six hits including a double, scoring twice and driving in five runs from the bottom slots in the order. Ben Guez and Clete Thomas also each added three hits in the Toledo slugfest.
AA Erie Seawolves - Altoona 6, Erie 5
15-19, 6th in Western Division
The SeaWolves dropped their contest with Altoona on Saturday, falling 6-5 after a blowing a three run lead in the eighth inning. Jacob Turner got the start and was strong yet again, giving up two runs on five hits in seven innings, walking one and striking out four. From that point, he handed the ball over to Chance Ruffin who got hit hard, giving up all four Altoona runs in the inning on five hits and a walk. It was Ruffin's second blown save and his third loss of the season. At the plate, Audy Ciriaco had two hits and drove in two runs for the club. Brandon Douglas also added four hits including a double and scored twice.
A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Charlotte 4, Lakeland 3
17-19, 4th in North Division
The Flying Tigers dropped their series opener with Charlotte, losing 4-3. Charlotte got out to an early 3-0 lead, which they maintained for much of the game, until the ninth inning when Lakeland put a threat together, getting two runs to get within a run and loading up the bases with just one out. But, Daniel Fields grounded out into a force out at the plate, and Tony Plagman flied out to end the game. Trevor Feeney got the start and took the loss, allowing all four runs in seven innings of work. Matt Little also tossed a scoreless inning of relief. Ryan Soares went 2-for-3 with a two run homer for the club while Corey Jones and Jeff Kunkel each added a pair of hits.
A West Michigan Whitecaps - Suspended: Rain
15-20, 7th in Eastern division
West Michigan and Lake County were suspended during the fourth inning of their game on Saturday due to rain, but will pick back up on Sunday afternoon at 1PM.
