AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Pawtucket 2, Toledo 1
22-23, 3rd in West Division
Toledo fell to Pawtucket 2-1 on Sunday afternoon. With Charlie Furbush in Detroit, Ramon Garcia got the call-up from Erie and took the start, and the loss. Garcia allowed just one run on four hits in 4 2/3 innings of work. Pawtucket took a 2-0 lead in the seventh off of Matt Hoffman, but then got a run back in the seventh when Toledo put runners on second and third with nobody out. Timo Perez scored on a Scott Thorman groundout, but the team couldn't get Ryan Strieby home from third and never got another run into scoring position.
AA Erie Seawolves - Erie 6, Bowie 1
19-21, 6th in Western Division
Behind Mark Sorensen the SeaWolves picked up a 6-1 win over Bowie. Sorensen tossed seven innings, giving up a run on seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts. Austin Wood tossed the final two innings not allowing a hit or a run to wrap the game up. Rawley Bishop had two hits including a double and drove in a pair of runs. Francisco Martinez also had a big game, going 3-for-5 with a solo home run and scoring three times. Michael Bertram and Bryan Pounds also each drove in a run.
A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Lakeland 4, Bradenton 3
22-22, 4th in North Division
The Flying Tigers held off a late rally from Bradenton to win their game on Sunday, 4-3. Jared Wesson got the start and picked up the win, giving up a run on four hits in 6 1/3 innings with three walks and five strikeouts. Ryan Robowski gave up a run while recording two outs, and Kevan Hess tossed a shutout inning. Kenny Faulk gave up a pair of hits and a run in the ninth inning, but held onto the lead and secured the win. Jordan Lennerton ripped a pair of doubles and drove in two runs for the club, while Daniel Fields and Avisail Garcia each had a hit and drove in a run.
A West Michigan Whitecaps - West Michigan 2, Fort Wayne 1
17-24, 8th in Eastern division
A day after battling in a slugfest and falling, the Whitecaps picked up a pitcher's duel 2-1 win. Jeff Ferrell got the start but went just 2 1/3 innings, giving up a run on four hits and two walks with a strikeout. Brennan Smith earned the win in relief, going 5 2/3 innings while giving up just one hit. He also walked one and struck out four. Bruce Rondon then came on and pitched a perfect ninth with a pair of strikeouts for his sixth save. Hernan Perez led the way once again at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Nick Castellanos also added a hit and an RBI.

The VSL Tigers were off on Sunday but take on the VSL Reds on Monday at 11AM.
