AAA Toledo Mud Hens - GM1: Durham 7, Toledo 4

23-28, t-3rd in West Division
The Mud Hens split their doubleheader with Durham on Sunday night, falling in the first game 7-4, but taking the second game 2-1 including an exciting close to the game with a play at the plate. The Hens fell in the first game behind Duane Below, who struggled on the mound, giving up six runs in 5 2/3 innings of work. Brendan Wise gave up the final run in his 1 1/3 innings. At the plate, Ben Guez supplied most of the offense by belting a three run homer. In the nightcap, Brayan Villarreal got the start and tossed four strong innings, allowing one run on two hits with four strikeouts. Ryan Perry then tossed two perfect innings of relief with three strikeouts, and Lester Oliveros tossed the ninth for his second save. The ninth however wasn't drama free, as with two outs and a man on first, Leslie Anderson belted a long fly to deep center field. Clete Thomas had a long run, got his glove on the ball, but couldn't haul it in for an error. With the man on first heading home, Ben Guez made a heads up play backing up Thomas, gunning the ball to home where the tying run was tagged out to end the game. Cale Iorg ripped a triple and scored a run, and Bryan Pounds added an RBI single.
AA Erie Seawolves - Erie 6, Reading 5 (10)
22-25, 6th in Western Division
Erie picked up a walk-off win on Sunday, scoring a run in the bottom of the tenth to top Reading 6-5. With Shawn Roof standing on third, Adam Calderone ripped a single to score Roof and win the game for the 'Wolves. Erie got a strong start from Jacob Turner, who gave up three runs in seven innings of work. He also walked two and struck out eight. Austin Wood tossed a scoreless inning of relief, but Chance Ruffin struggled trying to close the game out, allowing two runs in the ninth to lose the lead. At the plate, Audy Ciriaco went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, while Michael Bertram had a double and drove in two runs.
A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Lakeland 5, Palm Beach 3
26-25, 4th in North Division
The Flying Tigers picked up a 5-3 win over Palm Beach on Sunday. Trevor Feeney got the start and picked up the win, giving up three runs in seven innings of work. He also walked one and struck out six. Michael Morrison tossed an inning of relief, and Kenny Faulk pitched the ninth for his 13th save. At the plate, Brent Wyatt went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI, and Jordan Lennerton had two hits including a double and a run driven in.
A West Michigan Whitecaps - Lake County 3, West Michigan 1
20-29, 8th in Eastern division
West Michigan lost to Lake County 3-1 on Sunday with poor defense being the story of the game. Antonio Cruz got the start and pitched well but still took the loss. He allowed a pair of unearned runs in six innings of work. He also walked two and struck out four. Dan Gentzler came on in relief and allowed the final run, also unearned. In all, there were four errors committed by the Whitecaps for the game. At the plate, Steven Moya supplied the lone run, going 2-for-4 with a solo home run.
