AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Scranton/WB 3, Toledo 2
26-32, 4th in West Division
The Mud Hens again only allowed three runs on Sunday to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but this time around could only put up a pair of runs for themselves as they fell 3-2. Ramon Garcia got the start and took the loss despite turning in a quality start, giving up three runs in six innings of work with no walks and a pair of strikeouts. Robbie Weinhardt closed things out with two scoreless innings of relief, including getting a pair of strikeouts. At the plate, Timo Perez ripped a pair of doubles and drove in a run, while Cale Iorg added a hit and an RBI.
AA Erie Seawolves - Harrisburg 7, Erie 4
27-28, 3rd in Western Division
The SeaWolves fell to Harrisburg on Sunday, losing 7-4. Jay Voss got roughed up as he took the loss, giving up five runs on six hits in 3 1/3 innings of work. He also battled his command as he walked five and struck out just three. Jared Gayhart tossed 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to keep the 'Wolves within striking distance, but Luis Marte then gave up two more runs to put Erie in another hole, and even with a three-run eighth inning, they couldn't challenge the lead. Justin Henry went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI, while Michael Rockett went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.
A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Tampa 3, Lakeland 1
30-27, 4th in North Division
The Tampa Yankees got the best of the Flying Tigers again on Sunday, topping Lakeland 3-1. Cole Nelson got the start for Lakeland and like Garcia, turned in a quality start and still got a loss. He gave up three runs on seven hits in six innings, walking none and striking out five. Shawn Teufel added two shutout innings to wrap up the activity on the mound. In both the seventh and ninth innings, Lakeland got the tying run to the plate, but in both instances they couldn't get anything else going. The Flying Tigers' lone RBI came from Wade Gaynor, while Jordan Lennerton added two hits including a double and a walk.
A West Michigan Whitecaps - West Michigan 10, Cedar Rapids 3
24-33, 8th in Eastern division
The Whitecaps offense had a big game on Sunday as they led the 'Caps to a 10-3 win over Cedar Rapids. Patrick Cooper got the start and the win, allowing two runs in six innings, while Nate Newman allowed a run in two innings, and Ramon Lebron tossed a scoreless inning. At the plate, Rob Brantly and Billy Nowlin each belted home runs and drove in two runs for the club. Nick Castellanos also added three hits including a pair of doubles, scoring twice and driving in a run. Luis Castillo, James Robbins, Steven Moya and Dixon Machado all each had a mult-hit game as well, with all but Moya driving in a run also.
R DSL Tigers - Off Day
1-3, 3rd in DSL SPM Division
The DSL Tigers were again rained out on Saturday. They retrn to action on Monday against the DSL Angels.
R VSL Tigers - Off Day
6-8, 5th in VSL
The VSL Tigers were again rained out, but return to action on Monday for a doubleheader with the VSL Pirates.
