AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Toledo 7, Scranton/WB 6 (11)
42-54, 4th in West Division
The Mud Hens got a walk-off walk from Danny Worth to top Scranton/Wilkes-Barre 7-6 on Sunday night in 11 innings. Andy Oliver got the start and a no decision, giving up four runs in five innings of work. Charlie Furbush then allowed two runs in an inning of relief. However, Matt Hoffman and Ryan Perry then combined for five shutout innings, with Perry earning the win, striking out a pair in three innings. At the plate, Jeff Salazar had a big game, going 3-for-5 with a double and a home run, driving in three and scoring twice. Argenis Diaz went 3-for-6 with a triple and scored three runs, while Timo Perez added two hits and an RBI.
AA Erie Seawolves - Erie 9, Altoona 3
45-49, 5th in Western Division
The SeaWolves picked up a series split on Sunday, topping Altoona 9-3. Brooks Brown got the start and the win, giving up a pair of runs in seven innings of work. He also walked one and struck out four. Jared Gayhart pitched the final two innings, allowing a run as he sealed the win. Deik Scram had a big game, going 2-for-4, scoring twice, belting a home run, and driving in four runs total. Francisco Martinez also added a pair of hits including a double, scoring twice and driving in two. Rawley Bishop also added two hits, two runs and an RBI.
A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Lakeland 4, Charlotte 2
11-10, 2nd in North Division
Lakeland picked up a 4-2 win on Sunday, topping Charlotte. Trevor Feeney took a no decision as the starter, giving up two unearned runs in 5 2/3 innings of work with three walks and four strikeouts. Zach Samuels got the win in relief, not allowing a hit or a run in 2 1/3 innings, striking out three. Matt Little then pitched the ninth for his third save. At the plate, Wade Gaynor belted a three run home run, while Brent Wyatt had a pair of doubles and an RBI. Avisail Garcia also chipped in with a pair of hits.
A West Michigan Whitecaps - West Michigan 5, Wisconsin 4
13-10, 4th in Eastern division
The Whitecaps fell to Beloit on Sunday, losing 3-2. Brian Flynn got the start, yielding a couple runs (one earned) in 5 2/3 innings on just three hits. He also walked three and struck out four. Antonio Cruz took the loss in relief, giving up the go-ahead and game winning run in his 2 1/3 innings of work. At the plate, Luis Castillo had a double and an RBI for the team, while Nick Castellanos also added a run driven in.
SS-A Connecticut Tigers - Connecticut 8, Hudson Valley 4
12-15, 2nd in Stedler Division
Connecticut took their game on Sunday from Hudson Valley, winning 8-4. Wilsen Palacios got the start and was outstanding, giving up a run on five hits in seven innings of work. He also walked one and struck out six as he earned his second win of the season. Nick Avila allowed a pair of runs in relief, with Fernando Celis pitching the final inning and allowing a run. Jason King had a double and a home run for the club, scoring twice and driving in two runs. Dean Green also had a big game, going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles, adding a run and an RBI. Javier Azcona also went 2-for-4 and belted a three run homer.
