MiLB Recaps: Plagman Drives in 5 in LFT Win

AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Toledo 5, Norfolk 2
50-58, 4th in West Division

Fu-Te Ni again turned in a strong start, but Brendan Wise got the win for Toledo. Ni allowed two runs in six innings of work, scattering seven hits. Wise got the win for tossing two scoreless innings of relief, while Ryan Perry earned his sixth save. Ryan Strieby belted a three run homer, while Will Rhymes went 2-for-3 with a solo shot. Jeff Salazar also added a solo home run.

AA Erie Seawolves - Erie 1, Akron 0
49-57, 5th in Western Division

Jay Voss tossed seven shutout innings to lead Erie to a shutout win. Voss got the win, scattering just three hits and four walks while striking out two. Tyler Stohr pitched the final two innings to earn the save and seal the win. Justin Henry scored the club's only run.

A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Lakeland 11, Fort Myers 0
14-19, 6th in North Division

Lakeland hammered their way to a big win behind plenty of offense and pitching. Jared Wesson tossed six shutout innings as he earned his 11th win, Cole Nelson and Zach Samuels then combined to close out the win. Tony Plagman had a monster game, going 4-for-6 with a home run and five runs batted in. Wade Gaynor went 2-for-4 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI while Brent Wyatt added three hits and a walk and scored four times.

A West Michigan Whitecaps - West Michigan 6, Lansing 5
17-16, 5th in Eastern division

Josue Carreno got the start for the Whitecaps, allowing five runs (three earned) in 5 2/3 innings. Patrick Cooper got the win in relief for recording just one out, while Bruce Rondon earned his 19th save as he struck out a pair in his inning of work. Steven Moya ripped a solo home run and drove in two total, while Clay Jones added two hits and two RBI. Josh Ashenbrenner also went 3-for-4 with a double and a run driven in.

SS-A Connecticut Tigers - Brooklyn 2, Connecticut 0
17-22, 3rd in Stedler Division

Brennan Smith tossed seven shutout innings, but Melvin Mercedes couldn't hold the opposition down as he allowed two runs and took the loss. Smith walked two and struck out six in his start. Matt Perry had two hits including a double in the loss.
