AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Syracuse 8, Toledo 3
52-59, 4th in West Division
Andy Oliver took the loss for the Hens, allowing six runs (five earned) in 4 2/3 innings with two walks and seven strikeouts. Lester Oliveros did toss two shutout innings of relief though. Brandon Inge ripped a double and drove in three runs for the club, while Will Rhymes went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
AA Erie Seawolves - Off Day
51-57, 5th in Western Division
The SeaWolves kick off their homestand on Tuesday evening at 7:05PM.
A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Lakeland 11, Fort Myers 2
16-20, 6th in North Division
Zach Samuels got the start for Lakeland and tossed four innings while allowing two unearned runs, but Cole Nelson got the win in relief for tossing three shutout innings with four strikeouts. Three more relievers closed the game out, but the story was the offense, especially Wade Gaynor. He went 4-for-5 with three doubles and drove in four runs. Jordan Lennerton and Rob Brantly also each added two run homers, while Avisail Garcia added a solo blast.
A West Michigan Whitecaps - West Michigan 6, South Bend 1
19-17, t-4th in Eastern division
Kevin Eichhorn went the distance for the Whitecaps as he earned his eighth win of the year. He allowed just one run on four hits with a pair of strikeouts. James Robbins went 2-for-4 with a solo home run and two runs driven in, while Steven Moya added a two run blast. Clay Jones also went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
SS-A Connecticut Tigers - Batavia 5, Connecticut 3
19-23, 2nd in Stedler Division
Luis Angel Sanz got the start and the loss for Connecticut, giving up four runs (three earned) in six innings of work with two walks and eight strikeouts. Melvin Mercedes allowed a run in an inning of relief, while Fernando Celis and Daniel Bennett each tossed a scoreless inning. Tyler Collins went 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored and an RBI. Jason King and Zach Maggard also each drove in a run.
R GCL Tigers - Yankees 4, Tigers 0
15-22, 4th in North Division
Jack Duffey took the loss for the GCL Tigers as the starter, giving up all four runs (three earned) on six hits in seven innings with two walks and five strikeouts. Bill Castillo tossed two scoreless innings of relief with three strikeouts. Brandon Eckerle had two hits, while Wes Thigpen added a double for the team's only extra base hit.
R DSL Tigers - Blue Jays 5, Tigers 3
18-35, 3rd in DSL SPM Division
Gregorio Solano got the start and took the loss, giving up four runs in 2 1/3 innings as he struggled with his control, walking five. Adrian Paniagua allowed an unearned run in three innings of work as well. Sandy Acevedo had a hit and drove in two runs for the club.
R VSL Tigers - Tigers 4, Reds 1
26-39, 6th in VSL
Yorfrank Lopez got the start and the win, scattering four hits over six shutout innings with a walk and five strikeouts. Jairo Sanchez got the save for pitching the final three innings, allowing just one run. Jose Soledad and Jesus Ustariz each had a hit, a run and an RBI.
