MiLB Recaps: Patience Leads to Easy Erie Win

August 4th Games

AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Indianapolis 4, Toledo 3
52-61, 4th in West Division

Fu-Te Ni got the start and took the loss for Toledo, giving up four runs on seven hits in 6 1/3 innings of work with two walks and three strikeouts. Ryan Perry did pitch 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Clete Thomas went 2-for-4 with a triple and drove in a pair of runs, while Argenis Diaz also added a hit and an RBI.

AA Erie Seawolves - Erie 12, New Britain 2
54-57, 5th in Western Division

The offense provided plenty of support for Jay Voss, though he didn't need it as he earned his seventh win. He gave up a run on three hits in seven innings with three walks and three strikeouts. The club generated plenty of baserunners, capitalizing on 14 walks, including three each from Brent Wyatt and Deik Scram. Jamie Johnson had two hits including a double and two RBI. Brandon Douglas also added a double and an RBI and scored twice.

A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – Lakeland 8, Daytona 4
17-21, 6th in North Division

Mark Sorensen gave Lakeland seven solid innings in their win over Daytona, giving up three runs on five hits. Zach Samuels and Matt Little tossed an inning of relief each to close the game out. William Bergolla added a three run homer for the club, while Tony Plagman added two hits and two RBI. Shawn Roof also went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.

A West Michigan Whitecaps - Dayton 10, West Michigan 1
20-19, 5th in Eastern division

Josue Carreno got roughed up as the Whitecaps fell hard to Dayton. Carreno took his tenth loss of the year, giving up seven runs (six earned) on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings. He did walk one and strike out seven however. Patrick Cooper also had a rough day, giving up three runs without recording an out. James Robbins provided the team's only run via a solo home run.
