August 30th Games

AAA Toledo Mud Hens - Indianapolis 5, Toledo 4 (12)
65-74, 4th in West Division

The Mud Hens fell again in extra innings to Indianapolis, this time in 12 innings. Ramon Garcia got the start and allowed four runs in five innings of work. Robbie Weinhardt and David Purcey then combined for five shutout innings of relief, but Enrique Gonzalez gave up the winning run in the bottom of the 12th to take the loss. Danny Worth had two hits, two walks and two RBI, while Carlos Guillen added a pair of doubles for the club as part of a 4-for-5 night. Will Rhymes also had three hits and scored a run.

AA Erie Seawolves - Binghamton 4, Erie 3
65-71, 5th in Western Division

Tyler Stohr gave up the go-ahead and eventual game winning run in the ninth inning via a solo home run to take the loss for the 'Wolves. Trevor Feeney had started, giving up three runs on five hits in five innings, and Rob Waite tossed three shutout innings of relief with four strikeouts. Bryan Pounds went 3-for-4 with two doubles, and Rawley Bishop drove in a pair of runs for Erie.

A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – GM1: Lakeland 1, Dunedin 0
GM2: Lakeland 9, Dunedin 5

26-36, 6th in North Division

Lakeland picked up a pair of wins on Tuesday, including a complete game shutout from Jared Wesson. He allowed just two hits in seven innings with three walks and six strikeouts. Jordan Lennerton belted a solo home run for the team's only run in the first game. Luke Putkonen went the distance in the second game to get the win, though he did allow five runs in his seven innings. Lennerton had a big game again, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and three RBI. Avisail Garcia went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, as did William Bergolla.

A West Michigan Whitecaps - Dayton 3, West Michigan 2 (10)
34-30, 5th in Eastern division

Bullpen struggles did in the Whitecaps after Alex Burgos started the game with six shutout innings. He also struck out three. However, Ryan Woolley lost the lead by allowing a pair of runs in two innings, and Daniel Bennett took the loss for allowing the go-ahead run in the tenth. James Robbins belted a solo home run, while Nick Castellanos had a hit and an RBI.

SS-A Connecticut Tigers - Connecticut 5, Hudson Valley 0
35-33, 1st in Stedler Division

Connecticut took over sole possession of first place with a 5-0 shutout win on Tuesday. Brennan Smith went the distance, tossing a complete game shutout. He allowed just five hits and no walks and struck out three. Javier Azcona went 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI, and Dean Green went 2-for-4 with a double and a run driven in.
