Andy Oliver gave up six earned runs over 5 1/3 innings and the Mud Hens offense was quieted as Toledo lost for the sixth time in the past seven games. Oliver gave up nine hits and two hits while striking out five. Brad Eldred and Eric Patterson each went 1-for-4. Quntin Berry went 0-for-2 with two walks. Just called up to Toledo, Ryan Robowski walked three and gave up an earned run in 1/3 of an inning of relief.

Tony Plagman hit for the cycle and his fourth hit, the single, drove home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. Plagman went 4-for-5 with five RBIs. His first-inning home run was a grand slam, as Erie jumped out to a 6-0 lead. But Reading slowly got closer and eventually tied the game at seven. Jared Wesson gave up four runs in six innings in the start. Jared Gahart gave up two earned runs in just 1/3 of an innings. Zach Samuels came to the rescue, throwing the final 2 2/3 innings and allowing just one hit and picking up the win.

High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
23-20, 2nd in North Division

Luis Angel Sanz gave up six runs (three earned) over seven innings to earn his first loss of the season. The Flying Tigers took a 3-1 lead after 2 1/2 innings, but Bradenton answered with a four-run third and held on for the win. Nick Castellanos went 4-for-4 with a run scored, while Avisail Garcia went 1-for-2 with a triple, two RBIs and a run scored.

20-25, 7th in Eastern Division

Jose Fuentes gave up five runs (four earned) over 4 2/3 innings to fall to 0-2 on the season. A four-run fifth gave the Mariners a 5-1 lead. The Tigers scored three in the eighth, but would fall one run short. Javier Betancourt went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Orvin Tovar went 1-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.
