Luke Putkonen gave up four earned runs without recording an out in the eighth inning. Pawtucket scored seven runs in the eighth for the comeback win. Casey Crosby was sharp, giving up three earned runs on four hits over seven innings. He only walked one batter and struck out 10. Crosby gave up two hits to lead off the eighth before giving way to Putkonen. Darin Downs also gave up a run in the disastrous eighth. Brad Eldred led Toledo at the plate, going 1-for-3 with a three-run homer in the top of the eighth. Matt Young went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

24-23, 3rd in Eastern Division

Niuman Romero went 3-for-5 with two doubles, two RBIs and one run scored to lead Erie. Zack Segovia gave up three earned runs over 6 2/3 innings and picked up the win. Jordan Lennerton went 3-for-3 with a double, two walks, two RBIs and a run scored. Kenny Faulk pitched the final 2 1/3 innings, allowing just two walks, to earn the save.

High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
23-24, 3rd in North Division

Shawn Teufel gave up five earned runs over five innings and didn't get any help from the Lakeland offense in the loss. Dixon Machado went 1-for-2 with two walks, while Nick Castellanos went 0-for-4. Lakeland went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left eight on base. The bullpen combined to allow just three hits over four scoreless innings.

Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
21-28, 7th in Eastern Division

Jeff Ferrell gave up four runs in the seventh inning, turning a two-run lead into a two-run deficit, and picking up the loss. Kyle Ryan gave up four runs (three earned) over 5 1/3 innings in the start. Jason King went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run scored. Patrick Leyland went 1-for-3 with a double and an RBI. The Whitecaps took a 4-0 lead after the first inning. But leading 6-4 after seven, a rough seventh inning ended up costing West Michigan.

A six-run ninth was not enough for the Tigers' comeback hopes. Eduardo Jimenez allowed two earned runs over four innings, but picked up the loss. The game was blown open when Junior Camaripano allowed seven runs (six earned) over 2 2/3 innings from the fourth to the seventh. Jose Zambrano went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored, while Jose Ovalies went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored.
