Jacob Turner walked five and gave up three earned runs over five innings, picking up the loss. Two runs off Jose Ortega in the seventh gave the Yankees some breathing room at 5-2. Justin Henry went 2-for-4 and Brad Eldred went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI as Toledo lost for the 12th time in its last 14 games.

In the first game, Erie and Trenton continued Tuesday's game that had been suspended in the fifth inning. Michael Morrison pitched the four innings on Wednesday, allowing a solo home run in the bottom of the eighth and recording the loss. Kelvin De La Cruz originally started on Tuesday, giving up three earned runs in four innings. Tony Plagman went 1-for-4 with a double — Erie's lone extra-base hit — and a run scored. Jamie Johnson went 1-for-2 with an RBI.

In the second game, Trenton again scored in its final inning at the plate. Ramon Garcia pitched all six innings, giving up a solo home run in the bottom of the sixth and Trenton held on for the win. Niuman Romero went 2-for-4, while Brandon Douglas went 1-for-4 with an RBI.

High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
25-25, 3rd in North Division

James Robbins hit a go-ahead, two-run homer in the top of the ninth and the Flying Tigers held on for the win. It was Robbins' only hit of the game. Tyler Clark picked up the win, allowing three baserunners, but no runs, in the eighth. Bruce Rondon pitched his 11th straight scoreless outing to pick up his 10th save of the season. Luis Castillo went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs.

Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
24-29, T-6th in Eastern Division

Thomas Collier pitched a four-hit shutout and the Whitecaps won their third straight. Collier walked one and struck out seven. West Michigan's lone run was scored on a sixth-inning RBI-single from Steven Moya, who went 2-for-4. Eugenio Suarez went 2-for-4.
