AAA Toledo Mud Hens

Matt Hoffman allowed an unearned run in the eighth inning and picked up the loss. Casey Crosby gave up one earned run on five hits over six-plus innings in the start. He also walked two and struck out five. Jerad Head went 2-for-3, while Alex Avila went 1-for-3 with an RBI.
AA Erie Seawolves
35-34, 3rd in Eastern Division
Nick Castellanos fell a single short of the cycle in his best game since joining the SeaWolves. Castellanos went 3-for-4 with a home run, triple, double, three RBIs and two runs scored. James Avery allowed four runs (one earned) over eight innings and picked up the win. Avery allowed seven hits and walked none, along with five strikeouts. Bryan Pounds went 2-for-2 with a home run, two RBIs and a run scored. Bruce Rondon pitched a perfect ninth and recorded the save in his Erie debut.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
Lakeland's game against Brevard County was canceled due to rain. The Flying Tigers will play at Tampa on Thursday.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
36-34, 3rd in Eastern Division
The Whitecaps are on their All-Star break.
Johan Belisario gave up five runs (four earned) on 12 hits over 4 1/3 innings to fall to 1-5 on the year. Angel Vasquez was worse, allowing eight runs (seven earned) over two innings. Luis Rodriguez pitched the final 2 2/3 innings and gave up two earned runs. At the plate, Jhosua Montero went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Carlos Perez went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Three relievers combined to give up 10 earned runs over five innings. Yorfrank Lopez was the first reliever, giving up three earned runs over two innings and picked up the loss. Lopez followed Chad Smith, who gave up one earned run over three innings. David Gonzalez went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and a run scored, while Austin Schotts went 1-for-5 with a double and an RBI.
1-2, T-3rd in New York-Penn League Stedler
Endrys Briceno gave up eight earned runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings in the start and picked up the loss. Jeff McVaney went 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Danry Vasquez went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored. Tim Kelley gave up two earned runs in 3 1/3 innings of relief.
