AAA Toledo Mud Hens
31-43, 3rd in West Division
Drew Smyly gave up three runs (two earned) in the first inning. He lasted two in a rain-delayed game. Smyly gave up four hits and struck out three while coming back from a bad blister. Ryan Robowski gave up one earned run over 2 1/3 innings and picked up the loss. Argenis Diaz went 4-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while Ryan Strieby went 1-for-4 with a solo home run.
AA Erie Seawolves
35-35, T-3rd in Eastern Division
Ramon Garcia allowed five runs (three earned) over three innings in the start and picked up the loss. Niuman Romero went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, while Nick Castellanos went 2-for-5 with an RBI. Bowie scored three in the first and never trailed, scoring one in the second, third and fourth innings.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
Alex Burgos gave up five earned runs over four innings and recorded the loss. He allowed eight hits and walked five, finding himself in trouble all night. James Robbins went 3-for-4 with a three-run home run, while Avisail Garcia went 2-for-5 with two runs scored.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
36-34, 3rd in Eastern Division
The Whitecaps are on their All-Star break.
Franklin Navarro had three of the Tigers' four hits, going 3-for-4. Starter Eduardo Jimenez went four innings, giving up two earned runs over four innings. Jose Zambrano went 1-for-4 with the other hit.
5-9, 5th in San Pedro de Macoris
Rafael Manzanolli gave up one earned run on three hits over 4 1/3 innings, but recorded the loss with no help from the offense. Lenny Pena went 1-for-3 with a double, while Eurys Felipe went 1-for-3 with a walk. The Tigers went 0-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left eight on base.
3-1, T-1st in GCL North
Tyler Gibson went 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and two runs scored to lead the Tigers offense. Nick Carmichael allowed two hits over four scoreless innings, but Joshua Carr picked up the win after giving up one earned run over two innings of relief. Ismael Salgado went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored.
1-3, 4th in New York-Penn League Stedler
Charles Gillies gave up two earned runs over two innings and picked up the loss, but Tyler Barrett allowed four earned runs on four hits in 1/3 of an inning of relief. Juaner Aguasvivas went 2-for-4 with a run scored, while Patrick Smith went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
