Cesar Carrillo allowed three hits over six scoreless innings and picked up his first win of the season. Carrillo walked one and struck out two. James McCann went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, while Niuman Romero went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Bruce Rondon allowed a hit and walk in the ninth, but recorded his ninth save.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
9-7, T-2nd in North Division
Curt Casali went 2-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored to lead the Flying Tigers offense. Brian Flynn gave up three earned runs on six hits over four innings in the start. Tyler White picked up the win after throwing two scoreless innings of relief. Marcus Lemon went 4-for-4 with a double. Tyler Clark picked up his sixth save of the season.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
9-9, 5th in Eastern Division
Thomas Collier struck out 11 and allowed two hits over 5 2/3 scoreless innings to move to 7-6 on the season. Collier didn't walk any batters, either. Jeff McVaney went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, while Eugenio Suarez went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.
6-16, T-3rd in New York-Penn League Stedler
Tyler Hanover hit a two-out RBI single in the top of the ninth to drive in the winning run. Hanover went 2-for-5 with a double. Charles Gillies gave up four earned runs over four innings in the start. Devon Travis went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. William Clinard picked up the win pitching the final two scoreless innings.
Angel Vasquez allowed two unearned runs over five innings and picked up the win.Jose Zambrano went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored, while Arvicent Perez went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Edgar Pina pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.
13-16, 4th in San Pedro de Macoris
Lenny Pena was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring Sandy Acevedo for the win.Pena went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored, while Acevedo went 0-for-4 with two walks and an RBI. Rafael Manzanillo gave up four runs (three earned) without recording an out in the start. He allowed one hit and four walks before being pulled. Cesar Burgos pitched the final three scoreless innings and ended up with the win.
15-4, 1st in GCL North
Tim Remes went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored to lead the Tigers offense. Nick Carmichael allowed one hit over three scoreless innings in the start. Joshua Carr gave up one hit over three innings and recorded the win, while Jose Valdez pitched a scoreless ninth for the save.
