AAA Toledo Mud Hens
37-55, 3rd in West Division
Adam Wilk allowed five runs over five innings and picked up the loss, although only two of the runs were earned. Matt Hoffman and Jose Ortega each gave up an earned run out of the bullpen. At the plate, John Lindsey went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored, while Bryan Holaday went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
AA Erie Seawolves
44-47, T-5th in Eastern Division
In the first game of the doubleheader, Patrick Cooper pitched all six innings, allowing two earned runs on two hits and picked up the loss. Avisail Garcia went 1-for-3 with a triple, while Tony Plagman went 1-for-2 with a double.
In the second game, Michael Morrison allowed a run on the bottom of the eighth and picked up the loss. The game went to extra innings because Erie scored three in the top of the seventh. David Kopp gave up three earned runs over 2 1/3 innings in the start. Niuman Romero went 1-for-4 with two RBIs.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
10-8, 3rd in North Division
Lakeland's game at Charlotte was postponed. The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
11-10, 5th in Eastern Division
Eugenio Suarez went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored as the Whitecaps banged out 20 hits. Wilsen Palacios allowed three earned runs over six innings and picked up the win. Jeff McVaney went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBIs, while Jason Krizan went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, one RBI and three runs scored.
8-17, 3rd in New York-Penn League Stedler
Edgar De La Rosa gave up two runs (one earned) over five innings and picked up the win. At the plate, Jake Stewart went 2-for-4 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored, while Devon Travis went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. All five Connecticut runs were scored in the third inning.
In the first game of the doubleheader, Julio Sanchez allowed three earned runs in the bottom of the sixth and recorded the loss. Anthony Castro gave up one earned run over four innings in the start. Jose Ovalled went 2-for-4, while Jose Zambrano went 1-for-3 with a run scored.
In the second game, Jose Medina gave up seven earned runs on 10 hits over 3 2/3 innings and picked up his first loss of the season. At the plate, Victor Padron went 3-for-4 while Zambrano went 1-for-4 with an RBI.
14-19, 4th in San Pedro de Macoris
Carlos Lara allowed one earned runs over five innings in the start, but recorded the loss without any help from the offense. The Blue Jays scored one run in each of the final five innings. Manuel Joseph went 1-for-3, while Yerison Pena went 1-for-4.
17-6, 1st in GCL North
Joshua Carr pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings, allowing three hits, but Ryan Longstreth picked up the win with 3 1/3 scoreless inning of relief. Jesus Ustariz went 2-for-4 with a home run and a triple, while Harold Castro went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
