AAA Toledo Mud Hens
27-41, 4th in West Division
Toledo fell behind 3-0 in Thursday's game against Syracuse but fought back in the middle innings with a strong offensive showing as the Mud Hens topped the Chiefs 9-7. Pat Misch earned a no decision in his start, allowing six earned runs on eight hits over five innings of work. Jose Ortega improved his record to 2-0 with the win in relief while Bruce Rondon earned his eleventh save of the season. Nick Castellanos led the way offensively for Toledo, going 2-for-3 with a double and three runs driven in in the win.
AA Erie Seawolves
34-30, 1st in Western Division
Erie's bats struggled to heat up in Thursday's game against Portland as the SeaWolves could only muster up four hits, falling to the Sea Dogs 2-0. Ramon Garcia lost his first game of the season in the start, allowing two earned runs on seven hits over 7 ? innings while striking out 9. Hernan Perez was the lone Erie hitter to record multiple hits, going 2-for-4 in the loss.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
30-34, 5th in North Division
Lakeland's bats came alive late in the first of Thursday's doubleheader against Bradenton as the Flying Tigers put up seven runs in the final three innings to top the Marauders 7-6. Nick Avila earned a no decision in the start, allowing two earned runs on four hits over four innings. Melvin Mercedes improved to 3-0 on the year with the win in relief. Francisco Martinez had a big night at the plate in the win, going 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in the win.
High-A Lakeland Flying Tigers
30-35, 5th in North Division
Lakeland and Bradenton carried a 5-5 tie into extra innings in the second game of Thursday's doubleheader before the Marauders scored four runs in the top of the eleventh inning, topping the Flying Tigers 9-5. Starting pitcher Joshua Carr earned a no decision, giving up two earned runs on four hits over three innings. Brennan Smith fell to 1-1 after earning the loss in relief. Brandon Loy was strong at the plate for Lakeland, going 3-for-5 with a double and two runs driven in in the loss.
Low-A West Michigan Whitecaps
31-35, 5th in Eastern Division

West Michigan relied on strong pitching and solid hitting in Thursday's game against Great Lakes as the Whitecaps topped the Loons 5-2. Starting pitcher Endrys Briceno improved to 3-4 on the season with the win, allowing one unearned run on two hits over five innings. Jose Valdez earned his fourteenth save of the season with the win. Jeff Holm led the ‘Caps offensively, going 2-for-5 with a home run and two runs driven in in the win. Lance Durham also homered for West Michigan.
R VSL Tigers
11-15, 4th in Venezuelan Summer League
The VSL Tigers jumped out to a 5-0 lead in Thursday's game against the Phillies and never looked back, topping the Phillies 5-1. Starting pitcher Eduardo Jimenez earned his first win of the season after allowing one earned run on five hits in five innings of work. Johan Belisario earned his fourth save of the season in the win. Gabriel Tenia led the charge offensively, going 2-for-2 while driving in three runs and drawing two walks for the Tigers.
