Guez Homers in Toledo Win (6/16 Recaps)

Toledo took Syracuse into the tenth inning of Sunday's game before the Mud Hens scored four runs, topping the Chiefs. Erie was routed by New Hampshire a day after routing the Fisher Cats, giving up 22 runs in the loss. West Michigan was doubled up by Fort Wayne.

Toledo and Syracuse ended the ninth inning in a 4-4 tie before the Mud Hens put up four runs in the tenth inning, topping the Chiefs 8-4. Derek Hankins earned a no decision in the start, allowing one earned run on four hits over six innings. Brayan Villarreal improved his record to 2-0 after earning the win in relief while Bruce Rondon earned his thirteenth save of the season. Ben Guez led the way offensively for Toledo, going 2-for-5 with a home run and four runs driven in in the win. Brad Davis also homered for the Mud Hens.

A day after Erie had the biggest game of its season at the plate against New Hampshire the SeaWolves allowed 22 runs on 23 hits, falling to the Fisher Cats in a lopsided 22-1 final. Ryan Robowski earned his first loss of the season in the start, allowing seven earned runs on seven hits over two innings. James Robbins drove in the lone run for the SeaWolves on a solo home run, his third of the season and second in as many games.

Starting pitcher Edgar De La Rosa fell to 3-2 on the season with the loss, allowing eight earned runs on 9 hits over 3 ? innings. David Gonzalez led the way offensively for West Michigan, going 2-for-4 with two runs driven in in the loss.
