Sanz Leads LFT to Win (7/9 Recaps)

Toledo fell two runs short of a big comeback in Tuesday's game against Louisville, failing to overcome a five-run deficit. Lakeland utilized a four-run inning to overcome Daytona, led by two runs driven in from Luis Alberto Sanz. Connecticut and the GCL Tigers earned wins while the VSL and DSL Tigers both fell.

Starting pitcher Pat Misch fell to 3-7 with the loss after allowing two earned runs on eight hits over five innings. Danny Dorn continued to bring the power to the lineup, hitting his sixteenth home run of the season on a 1-for-4 night.

Luis Alberto Sanz led the way for the Flying Tigers at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs driven in.

Nick Carmichael improved his record to 1-2 after earning the win in relief while Zac Reininger earned his first save of the season. Duncan McAlpine was the story at the plate for Connecticut, going 3-for-4 with two runs driven in for the Tigers.

The GCL Tigers jumped out to an early in Tuesday's game against the Yankees and pitching carried them the rest of the way as the Tigers topped the Yankees 4-1. Starting pitcher Fernando Perez improved his record to 3-0 after shutting out the Yankees on six hits over six innings. Ricardo Ciriaco earned his sixth save of the season in the win. Tim Remes was part of a platoon of hitters driving in runs for the Tigers, going 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
