It's no secret that the bat has always been the lagging tool in Dixon Machado's game. Widely praised for his plus-plus defensive skill-set, Machado took great strides at the plate last season posting career highs across the board. Picking up right where he left off last season, the 23-year-old shortstop's .366 batting average is ninth best in the International League.
2. OF Daniel Fields - AAA Toledo

Daniel Fields is healthy and off to a hot start in Triple-A Toledo. He leads the 'Hens in double, total bases and OPS. The 24-year-old's .995 OPS ranks seventh best and his .343 batting-average is 12th best in the International League this season.
3. RHP Buck Farmer - AAA Toledo

Buck Farmer dominated the MidWest League last season, earning an eventual cup of coffee with the big league club down the stretch. The 24-year-old right-hander is off to a hot start again this season, posting a 0.90 ERA and 0.80 WHIP, with an impressive 14 strikeouts while walking just two over his first ten innings. Farmer toes the slab for the 'Hens tonight against the Louisville Bats.
4. LHP Kyle Ryan - AAA Toledo

Kyle Ryan is off to a solid start after a disappointing spring. The 23-year-old southpaw has a tidy 2.53 ERA and 0.84 WHIP through his first two starts -- a span of 10 2/3 innings. With Blaine Hardy struggling, it's more so a matter of when, than if, Ryan rejoins the big league club in a relief role.
5. RHP Johan Belisario - A West Michigan

Johan Belisario has picked up right where he left off last season in Connecticut, absolutely shoving MidWest League batters thus far. The 21-year-old right-handed reliever has notched a win and a save over 6 1/3 scoreless innings.
6. LHP Josh Turley - AA Erie

Josh Turley and his infamous 5-pitch kitchen sink arsenal have started the season strong in Double-A Erie. The 24-year-old southpaw is 2-0 with a tidy 1.64 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over his first two starts -- a span of eleven innings.
7. RHP Spencer Turnbull - A West Michigan

Spencer Turnbull-- the Tigers 2nd round selection from last season's June Draft -- is off to a solid start for West Michigan, posting a 3.27 ERA and 1.00 WHIP over his first two starts. The 22-year-old right-harder has struck out eight and walked five over 11 innings.
8. DH Dean Green - AA Erie

Sure it's a ridiculously small sample size of data. Regardless, Dean Green has put up impressive numbers out of the gate this season. Green's batting average and OPS are second best in the Eastern League this season.

A.J. Ladwick -- the Tigers 11th round selection from last season's June Draft -- is off to a nice start this season in the MidWest League. The 22-year-old right-harder has struck out eleven and has yet to issue a free pass through his first 10 1/3 innings.
10. RHP Confesor Lara - A+ Lakeland

Confesor Lara has been more than just an 80-grade name early on this season for Advanced-A Lakeland. Bumping as high as 97 mph on the radar, Lara has racked up nine strikeouts over 6 2/3 innings. The 24-year-old right-handed reliever has been nails his first three appearances.
