For the past three weeks, "Pudge Mania" has swept the metro Detroit area, as fans impatiently awaited an acquisition that would easily be considered the biggest free agent signing in Tiger history. Rumors have been flowing like crazy, but it appears that all these rumors can now be put to rest as it appears Rodriguez has agreed to a deal that will more than likely see Rodriguez finish his career wearing the olde English ‘D'.
The deal, as has been reported by various sources, will be a 4-year deal worth $40 million. There has yet to be confirmation on whether or not there will be a 5th year option as has been reported recently, but it does appear that the so-called ‘out-clauses' will be in the contract – a clause that allows the Tigers to void the contract if Rodriguez misses 35 or more days because of a lower back injury in 2004, 2005 or 2006.
