One could break down the game as it happened, but there is no real point. The Tigers dominated from the start, they were so impressive that they only had 2 innings in which they did NOT score a run.
Nate Robertson earned the win for the Tigers, pitching 5 innings while allowing 2 runs on 3 hits. He left the game with the Tigers safely in the lead, and earned his 4th win of the season.
The Royals had a quartet of pitchers on the mound Thursday, but none did well. Brian Anderson got the loss as the starter, he pitched 4 innings while allowing 6 runs. The loss is already his 7th of the season.
Offensively, everyone got in on the fun for the Tigers, but no one more so than 1B Carlos Pena - who went 6-for-6 with 5 RBI and 2 Home Runs. After almost a month of poor hitting, Pena has once again come out of nowhere to show his incredible potential, unfortunately he just hasn't been able to give the team any consistency.
The Tigers move back to 2 games below .500 as they prepare to start a 3-game set with the Baltimore Orioles at Comerica Park. Friday's game is set for 7:05pm on WKBD UPN-50. Jason Johnson is scheduled to face off against Eric DuBose.
