AAA Toledo Mud Hens - 30-19, 1st in West division
Toledo got hammered on Monday, falling to Buffalo by a score of 13-5. Andrew Good took the loss, giving up seven runs in 4 1/3 innings. Mike Bynum relieved Good and tried to stop the bleeding, but he got hit hard as well, allowing five more runs in his two innings. Offensively, Curtis Granderson and Ryan Raburn each had home runs, but it wasn't nearly enough to keep the ‘Hens in step with Buffalo. Alexis Gomez had three hits also, and Chris Shelton went 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI in the losing effort. Toledo will try and redeem themselves on Tuesday night, when they take on Buffalo once again at 7:05pm.

AA Erie SeaWolves - 28-23, 2nd in Southern division
The holiday weekend was no holiday for Erie, who lost to the Harrisburg Senators 5-2. The Senators swept the last 3 games of the series after losing the opener to Erie. The SeaWolves put up a good fight – but the effort was not enough for the win. Second baseman Gilberto Mejia singled in one run in the second. The other run came in the 5th on LF Kurt Airoso's home run. Erie starting pitcher Randor Bierd pitched 6 innings and gave up all 5 of the Senators' runs. With this loss, Bierd's record is now 1-2 with an ERA of 3.12. High-A Lakeland Tigers - 34-17, 1st in West division
Lakeland held a lead up until the 9th inning, when Chris Homer simply couldn't convert batters into outs as Jupiter came back with two runs to take a 6-5 win. It was Chris Homer's 5th blown save of the year. Lakeland got a solid start yet again from Eulogio DeLa Cruz, giving up three runs over five innings, with four hits against eight strikeouts. But DeLa Cruz didn't earn a decision, it was Homer that took the loss. Brent Clevlen went 2-for-4 with two runs, a home run and three RBI in the losing effort for the L-Tigers, while Vincent Blue added a pair of hits and a run and Derek Nicholson had a hit and an RBI. Lakeland has Tuesday off, closing out the month of May with not quite the same momentum as they closed out April, and come June they'll start a home-and-home with Tampa on Wednesday.

A West Mich. Whitecaps - 23-28, 5th in East division
West Michigan finished their current series with a win Monday, topping the Fort Wayne Wizards 3-2. After a disappointing loss Sunday, the 'Caps lineup came out swinging. Shortstop Brent Dlugach claimed RBIs for all three West Michigan runs. DH Nick McIntyre led the hits with three solid singles in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th. Once on base, the 'Caps were in a thieving mood. Third baseman Wilkin Ramirez, Dlugach, and McIntyre all added stolen bases to their season stats. Fort Wayne capitalized on reliever Ed Clelland's short appearance in the 6th and 7th innings. Clelland gave up five hits and two runs in just over an inning (1.1). Ian Ostlund took the mound from Anthony Tomey midway through the bottom of the 9th, faced three batters and earned the save. The Whitecaps return home to Fifth Third Ballpark Tuesday where they will host the Kane County Cougars in a four-game series. Play gets underway Tuesday at 6:35 p.m.
