AAA Toledo Mud Hens - SYRACUSE 4, TOLEDO 2

The Toledo Mud Hens dropped the opening game of their series with the Syracuse SkyChiefs 4-2 at home on Wednesday night. Colby Lewis (3-5) was the starter for Toledo, going six innings surrendering three runs on eight hits, striking out four batters and walking one. A solo homer by Josh Phelps put Toledo the board in the fifth, while Mike Hessman hit his second homer in three games, a solo blast in the seventh, his 13th on the season to cap off Toledo's scoring on the night. Tike Redman also chipped in for a pair of hits along with Jack Hannahan and Max St.Pierre, who each singled. The two teams will continue their series on Thursday night with Jordan Tata (2-2, 4.11) taking the mound for Toledo where he'll face Davis Romero (NR) of the Sky Chiefs.

AA Erie SeaWolves - READING 4, ERIE 3
28-36, t-5th in Southern division
Erie came back in the ninth inning Wednesday night to force extras, but gave it up in the tenth, losing to Reading 4-3. Nate Bumstead allowed three earned runs in six innings pitched, striking out five batters. After Eulogio De La Cruz did his job by shutting out the Phillies for two innings, John Ennis recorded his second loss of the season by giving up the go-ahead run. Kody Kirkland went 2 for 4 with two doubles and a run scored, and Brent Clevlen went 2 for 4 with an RBI. The SeaWolves were down 3-2 in the ninth before Danilo Sanchez' RBI fielder's choice scored Kirkland and tied the game. The series continues tomorrow in Erie at 7:05pm.

HiA Lakeland Tigers - LAKELAND 5, TAMPA 1
35-30, 3rd in West division
Jeff Larish and Nick McIntyre power Lakeland over Tampa Wednesday night 5-1. McIntyre got it started with a leadoff home run in the 5th inning, his fourth of the season. Larish drove in Clete Thomas in the sixth on a groundout, and blasted his team leading 12th home run of the season in the 8th, a two-run shot which finished off the scoring for the L-Tigers. Jeremy Johnson picked up his first win of the year by throwing 7 2/3 innings and only allowing 1 run. Lakeland goes for two in a row over Tampa Thursday night at 7:00pm.
