AAA Toledo Mud Hens – TOLEDO 8, CHARLOTTE 1
10-8, 2nd in West division
For the third straight night the Mud Hens scored more than seven runs and for the third straight night they were victorious with an 8-1 win over Charlotte at Knights Stadium. The 'Hens are 4-0 this season when scoring more than seven runs and 3-0 on their current Carolina road trip. International League hits leader Timo Perez led the Mud Hens going 3-for-5 with one run and three RBI. Perez's run came from his ninth inning home-run his fourth of the season, and second in two nights. Fellow outfielder David Espinosa also had a grand night at the plate, his eighth inning grand slam gave the Mud Hens their magic number of seven runs, and extended their lead to 7-1. Dennis Tankersley (3-1, 3.18) followed Virgil Vasquez's Sunday night, lights out pitching performance with a dominating game of his own, en route to the win. Tankersley only allowed one run on four hits in seven innings of work, while striking out five batters. The Hens will return to action Tuesday morning at 11:05 a.m. with right-hander Yorman Bazardo (1-1, 6.75 E.R.A.) taking the mound against the Knights at Knights Stadium.

AA Erie SeaWolves – ERIE 9, AKRON 4
8-6, t-2nd in Southern division
The SeaWolves offense stayed hot pounding out twelve hits on their way to a 9-4 victory over the Akron Aeros. Mike Hollimon got the SeaWolves going early hitting a three run home run in the first inning. Andres Torres stayed hot as well going 2-for-5 with two runs scored and a RBI. Brent Dlugach added two hits going 2-for-4 and Kody Kirkland was also 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Clete Thomas and Jeff Larish each had one hit and two RBI's, with his two RBI's Larish now has twenty on the season which leads the Eastern League. Starting pitcher Eddie Bonine struck out seven batters in 5 2/3 innings pitched to earn his first victory of the season. Bonine allowed seven hits and two earned runs in the win. The same two teams will meet again on Tuesday April 24 at 6:35 p.m. The scheduled pitching matchup pits LHP Jon Connolly (0-1 9.35 ERA) for Erie against LHP Shawn Nottingham (1-1 4.50 ERA) for Akron.

A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – SARASOTA 7, LAKELAND 2
7-10, t-4th in West division
The Flying Tigers were defeated in their series opener against the Sarasota Reds on Monday night. Lakeland starting pitcher Burke Badenhop pitched five innings and surrendered four runs. Justin Justice was the only Lakeland player to register an RBI on the night, as the second Flying Tigers run was scored via a throwing error in a pickoff attempt at third base. Lakeland looks to even the series at Sarasota Tuesday night at 7:00 PM. Luke French will most likely make the start for Lakeland, while Sarasota's starting pitched has yet to be announced.

A West Mich. Whitecaps –WISCONSIN 6, W. MICH. 3
8-8, 3rd in Eastern division
After tying Wisconsin twice in as many innings, West Michigan could not answer the Timber Rattler's three-run seventh and lost Monday 6-3. Starter Jonah Nickerson (1-1, 4.24 E.R.A.) had a rough outing, allowing eight hits and five earned runs in 6 1/3 innings to pick up his first loss. Whitecaps' batters had only four hits, two coming from the bat of Ryan Strieby which led to an RBI and run scored. Audy Ciriaco drove in two runs on a base hit in the fifth to account for the rest of West Michigan's offense. The 'Caps look to take the series Tuesday at 6:35 p.m. at Fifth Third Ballpark.
