TigsTown Power Rankings: 5th Edition

After a few weeks of holding the top spot, Chris Cody fell in the rankings. But is he ready to take the top spot back, or will someone else who has been red hot emerge to take the spot?

1. (LWR: 7) P Eulogio De La Cruz (ERI)
Another outstanding start vaults ‘Frankie' to the top of the rankings, struck out 8 more batters in the process

2. (LWR: 3) SP Chris Cody (WMI)
Cody made a push to reclaim his top spot but came up just short; over two starts, he gave up just four runs in nearly 16 innings of work and also struck out 18

3. (LWR: 4) SP Dallas Trahern (TOL)
Trahern made two starts at two different levels, turned in solid starts at both levels even though he took a loss in one of his starts

4. (LWR: 10) 1B Ryan Roberson (LAK)
Roberson continues his power streak with six more extra base hits, including two more home runs for the big first baseman

5. (LWR: 1) SP Virgil Vasquez (TOL)
His rough start in Detroit not withstanding, Vasquez picked up another for the ‘Hens prior to his call-up

6. (LWR: 8) OF Justin Justice (LAK)
Justice had a pair of doubles and a home run, but what was more impressive was the eight walks that he took over the course of the week

7. (LWR: 12) SP Luke French (WMI)
French turned in another strong start, including striking out nine over six innings of work

8. (LWR: NR) OF Ryan Raburn (TOL)
Raburn jumps back up on the rankings a week after knocking on the door with three doubles, three home runs and 8 RBI for the week

9. (LWR: NR) SP Andrew Miller (ERI)
Miller was also involved in the split week; but over the two levels, gave up just two runs over 15 innings of work, including 12 strikeouts

10. (LWR: NR) SP Duane Below (WMI)
Below, like Miller, was close last week, and while he didn't jump a level like Miller, he was outstanding, picking up two wins with an incredible 20 strikeouts

11. (LWR: NR) 3B Kody Kirkland (ERI)
Kody Kirkland had been quiet through the first month of the year, but he exploded this past week with six extra base hits and nine runs driven in

12. (LWR: 15) OF Andres Torres (ERI)
Jumped by his teammate's outstanding week, Torres still had a good week in his own right with four extra base hits

13. (LWR: NR) SP Zach Miner (TOL)
Miner, much like Kirkland, hasn't had a great first month, but changed that in a hurry, pitching 13 shutout innings over two starts, including eight strikeouts

14. (LWR: 8) RP Brett Jensen (WMI)
Jensen turned in a pair of saves, but also had a rough outing in which he allowed a pair of runs, causing the fall in the rankings

15. (LWR: NR) OF Wilkin Ramirez (LAK)
Wilkin comes out of nowhere to get onto the rankings with two doubles, a triple and two home runs – the type of power the Tigers have always expected from Wilkin

Other Notables: RP Jeff Gerbe (WMI): no ER last 4 weeks; 3B Jack Hannahan (TOL): 10-27, 3 2B, HR, 7 RBI; OF Clete Thomas (ERI): 2 2B, 3B, HR; SP Jon Connolly (ERI): 15 IP, 0 ER, 8 K; SP Burke Badenhop (LAK): 7 IP, ER, 3 K; OF Gorkys Hernandez (WMI): 10-22, 3 2B, 5 SB; SP Jonah Nickerson (WMI): CG, 2 ER, 9 K
