A West Mich. Whitecaps – BELOIT 5, W. MICH. 1
23-20, 3rd in Eastern division

The Whitecaps losing streak extended to four as they dropped their third straight game to Beloit Wednesday 5-1. West Michigan's offense was practically non-existent as they had only one hit, a Gorkys Hernandez single in the fourth, through the first eight innings before Deik Scram and James Skelton each doubled in the ninth to bring in their only run of the evening. Duane Below (4-2, 2.57 ERA) took the loss, allowing three earned runs on six hits and three walks over six innings. Manager Tom Brookens was ejected for arguing in the fifth inning after a force out call at home plate with the bases loaded was reversed. It was ruled that third baseman Santo De Leon touched third base before throwing home, negating the force out. The Whitecaps will look to salvage one game in the Beloit series Thursday as Chris Cody (3-3, 1.47 ERA) takes to the hill against Cole Devries (4-1, 1.35 ERA).
