Right-hander Ron Chiavacci (4-4) pitched six scoreless innings en route to his third straight win of the season - a 6-0 win over Syracuse Tuesday night. As always the 'Hens offense was led by outfielder Ryan Raburn who went 2-for-3 with two runs and a walk and rehabbing Tigers catcher Vance Wilson recorded a run. Dane Sardinha went 2-for-3 with a run, a double and an RBI and Jack Hannahan had a hit, a run, a walk and three RBI for the 'Hens who are now second in the International League West. The 'Hens will play Syracuse again tomorrow at 7 p.m.

AA Erie SeaWolves – ERIE 8, PORTLAND 5
30-25, 2nd in Southern division
The offense and bullpen powered the SeaWolves to a 8-5 victory over the Portland Sea Dogs. Starting pitcher Jon Connolly struggled through 3 2/3 innings allowing five runs on nine hits while walking three and striking out two but the four relief pitchers held the Sea Dogs in check. Matt Righter pitched 2 1/3 innings without allowing a hit for his second win of the season. Alan Mills earned the save in his first professional appearance since 2001. The SeaWolves piled up 10 hits in the victory. Jeff Larish paced the SeaWolves with a three run home run in the third. Erick Almonte also had three RBI and went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Kody Kirkland added a solo home run in the sixth and went 2-for-2 with two walks. Mike Hollimon and Matt Joyce were each 2-for-4. Erie and Portland will meet again on Wednesday at 7:05 p.m. Eddie Bonine (4-2, 3.96 ERA) will get the start for Erie and the Sea Dogs will start Charlie Zink (4-1, 2.63 ERA).

A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – ST. LUCIE 15, LAKELAND 10
25-31, 4th in West division
The Flying Tigers fell to the St. Lucie Mets Tuesday night, 15-10. Starting pitcher Luke French pitched three innings and gave up nine runs (with only four of them being earned). He was then relieved by Gabriel Benitez who pitched two innings and surrendered four runs. Rickey Steik and Derek Witt then combined to pitch the next three innings, giving up one run each. Infielder Rafael Mendez then pitched the ninth inning, giving up zero hits and striking out one batter. On the offensive side, Michael Hernandez batted 2-for-5 with a two run home run. Also, Catcher Cody Collet batted 2-for-4 with two RBIs. The Flying Tigers will travel to Brevard County to play their next game, Wednesday night at 7:00 PM. Kyle Sleeth is expected to make the start for Lakeland.

A West Mich. Whitecaps – W. MICH. 11, FT. WAYNE 2
33-24, 2nd in Eastern division
West Michigan cruised to a 11-2 victory and a series sweep of Fort Wayne Tuesday. Jonah Nickerson (4-5, 5.63 ERA) bounced back from his last start in which he allowed 10 earned runs over 1 2/3 innings, this time allowing only one earned run over 6 2/3 innings to get the win. Brennon Boesch led the offense with four RBI on two hits and a sacrifice fly. Audy Ciricao and Scott Sizemore each had two RBI and two runs scored. The Whitecaps have Wednesday off before beginning a big five game series at first-place Dayton on Thursday. With West Michigan sitting in second place, three and a half games behind the Dragons and Lansing two games behind the Whitecaps, this series will have serious implications on who holds the Eastern Division lead and Wild Card spot at the end of the weekend.
