TigsTown Power Rankings: 14th Edition

Who comes in at number one this week? Could it be a hot Whitecap? Or a previously unranked O-Tiger that has been on a tear? And what about those Whitecap relievers that just cannot seem to give up a run?

1. (LWR: 10) 2B Scott Sizemore (WMI)
Despite a shortened week, Sizemore continued to rip the cover off the ball, hitting three doubles and a triple, and in turn, vaulting himself into the top slot

2. (LWR: 1) SP Jordan Tata (TOL)
Tata turned in another solid start, however, took the loss for Toledo despite giving up just one run in more than six innings

3. (LWR: 13) 2B Mike Hollimon (ERI)
Jumps right back up with a big power showing in the A.S. Break shortened week; he ripped two doubles and two home runs in helping lead the surging Erie offense

4. (LWR: NR) 1B Chris Carlson (ONE)
Carlson had a HUGE week, even making a case for going from unranked to the top spot; Carlson had three doubles, blasted four home runs, and brought home 7 O-Tigers

5. (LWR: 12) RP Brett Jensen (WMI)
Jensen continues to shut things down as the closer in West Michigan; he has now pitched ten scoreless innings while continuing to be the stopper in the ninth

6. (LWR: 15) SP Eddie Bonine (ERI)
Hasn't garnered much attention all season long, but is commanding some now; picked up a win while giving up just one run over seven innings for the ‘Wolves

7. (LWR: NR) SP Andrew Kown (ERI)
Kown has been turning it on as of late and had a showing that finally vaulted him onto the rankings; a complete game, allowing one run with 5 K's to get the win for Erie

8. (LWR: 5) OF Matt Joyce (ERI)
Joyce didn't have a huge week, but still had a pair of extra base hits, continued to hit for a high average and was right in the middle of the big showing from Erie's offense

9. (LWR: NR) RP Ed Clelland (WMI)
Clelland has now stretched his scoreless innings streak to 17; an incredible feat as Clelland has been used in various situations, whether it be for just a couple batters, or stretching out over a few innings

10. (LWR: 2) IF Mike Hessman (TOL)
Hessman had just one home run for the Mud Hens (though he also blasted one in the AS Game), so he drops some, but hangs on due to week after week of impressive performance

11. (LWR: NR) SP Aaron Fuhrman (GCT)
A week after coming up just shy, Fuhrman forces his way onto the top ten with two more impressive performances; between two starts, gave up just four runs while striking out 11

12. (LWR: NR) 1B Jeff Larish (ERI)
If there was a record for number of times to fall off and jump back on the prospect list, Larish would certainly have beaten it by now. A double and three home runs vault Larish back onto the rankings in his on-again, off-again year.

13. (LWR: NR) SS Audy Ciriaco (WMI)
Ciriaco hasn't had a great first full season, but has shown glimpses, and displayed those last week with three doubles and a triple, showing off his impressive gap power

14. (LWR: NR) SP Charlie Furbush (GCT)
Furbush, a recent draftee, dominated in his start last week for the GCL Tigers; pitched five shutout innings, striking out 10 of the 18 batters he faced

15. (LWR: NR) OF Brent Clevlen (TOL)
The IL Player of the Week jumps up onto the Power Rankings with a big week in the shortened time; he had a double and two home runs while driving in six as he makes his case to jump back up to Detroit
