Jurrjens to Start on Wednesday

In need of a healthy and effective starter, the Tigers have made their decision on who will be the starter on Wednesday night in Cleveland.

After a pair of struggling performances, the Tigers returned right hander Jordan Tata back to Triple-A Toledo. But without Andrew Miller or Kenny Rogers ready to return, the team was in need of a starter.

Having given chances to Jordan Tata and Virgil Vasquez, the Tigers are going to turn to yet another impressive, young arm; 21 year old right hander Jair Jurrjens.

The youngster is currently 7-5 with a 3.20 ERA in 19 starts for the SeaWolves. In his last three outings, spanning 23 innings, he has struck out 24 while giving up just two earned runs.

Jurrjens will make his big league debut on Wednesday night in Cleveland against the Indians.
