Ron Chiavacci earned his eleventh win of the season Friday night after tossing 7 and one thirds innings and only allowing four hits and one earned run. Chris Shelton went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles and an RBI. Mike Hessman went 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI and Jason Perry had three hits and two runs. Dennis Tankersley (9-4) is scheduled to start against Columbus on Saturday.

AA Erie SeaWolves – ERIE 5, ALTOONA 4
69-52, t-1st in Southern division
The Erie SeaWolves let a four run lead slip away but came away with a 5-4 victory in ten innings. It wasn't dramatic but Wilkin Ramirez fly ball to right field scored Will Rhymes in the top of the 10th to propel the 'Wolves to victory. Ramirez was 1-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Steve Torrealba also had two hits and Nick McIntyre had two hits on the night. Starting pitcher Dallas Trahern earned a no decision after pitching 7 1/3 innings and allowing eight hits and three earned runs. Alan Mills earned the save pitching the bottom of the 10th. The save was number 20 on the season for Mills. The 'Wolves and Curve will play a doubleheader on Saturday with the first pitch scheduled for 5:35 p.m. In game one, Burke Badenhop will make his Double A debut for the 'Wolves against RHP Yoslan Herrera (6-6, 4.43 ERA). Game two will feature RHP Randor Bierd (2-1, 3.48 ERA) for Erie against RHP Todd Redmond (1-0, 2.38 ERA) of the Curve.

A+ Lakeland Flying Tigers – FT MYERS 9, LAKELAND 4
20-33, 6th in West division
Losing their eighth game in a row, the Flying Tigers fell to the Ft. Myers Miracle Friday night, 9-4. Starting pitcher Luke French pitched six innings and surrendered six runs (with only one of them being unearned). His record is now 5-11 on the season. On the offensive side, Max Leon batted 2-for-5 with a double and registered Lakeland's only two RBIs. Also, Ryan Roberson hit 2-for-4 on the night. The two teams will meet again Saturday night at 6:00 PM. Starting pitchers have yet to be announced.

A West Mich. Whitecaps – S. BEND 3, W. MICH. 2
35-18, 1st in Eastern division
Thirteen was an unlucky number for West Michigan Friday night. Starting pitcher Lauren Gagnier recorded 10 strikeouts in six innings pitched but still earned a no-decision. Kelvin Cedano came on in relief and allowed one run in two innings against three strikeouts and earned the loss. Jeramy Laster and Brandon Timm had two hits and an RBI and Kelvin Cedano earned the loss for the Whitecaps. The 'Caps will begin a two-game series at Fort Wayne beginning Saturday.

SS-A Oneonta Tigers – SSPD: RAIN

Oneonta's game against the Tri-City ValleyCats was suspended Friday night after three innings with the ValleyCats leading 5-4. The game will be resumed at 6 p.m. before the regularly scheduled game.

R GCL Tigers – TIGERS 11, PHILLIES 1

The GCL Tigers got back into the win column in a big way with a double digit showing from the offense in their 11-1 victory over the Phillies. Jonathon Kibler picked up the win, his second of the year, giving up a run over six innings, with six strikeouts. Meanwhile Joe Bowen was the star at the plate, blasting two home runs, driving in five, and scoring three more times himself. Orlando Rodriguez also had a two run homer, while Carlos Ramirez scored three times. The Tigers take on the GCL Yankees on Saturday at noon.
