Game Notes: Alex Avila and Luis Grullon were picked off first and second, respectively, and while Schlehuber had a nice arm and a quick release behind the plate, both events were inexcusable….Andy Dirks' double to the gap in right was a pretty good shot, about as hard as he can hit it….Sullivan cruised through his second inning of work with a one-pitch groundout by Grullon, and backwards k's from Salas and Nunez; both of whom looked lost in their at-bats….Jeff Kunkel replaced Avila behind the plate in the seventh inning and he looked fantastic defensively….It looked like Atlanta's fourth pitcher, Benino Pruneda, looked to tire in the ninth, giving up back-to-back singles to Bryan Pounds and Billy Nowlin; fortunately for the Braves, Tommy Palica got past the run-scoring single he gave up, by striking out Luis Salas looking on a filthy backdoor curveball….Grullon's double in the third inning was absolutely torched down the left field line, and with even an average runner it was probably a triple….The play of the day was made by Gustavo Nunez, as he ranged way up the middle to backhand a ball deep on the outfield grass behind second base, and still got the runner at first as he fell further into the outfield; absolutely brilliant play!....Figaro was dialing things back today on the hill, working consistently at 88-92 with more movement and a bit better control….Rob Waite and Trevor Feeney looked dominating in their time on the mound….Gabriel Herrera has plenty of arm strength, but he doesn't know where the ball is going when it leaves his hand….The at-bat in the ninth between Ryan Perry and Gorkys Hernandez was a joy to watch; two elite players with a great approach to each other, unfortunately Gorkys prevailed by lining a single to right….more to come in the next few days….
