The Flying Tigers were hit hard and fell to Clearwater on Friday 10-4. Adam Wilk took the loss, giving up six runs (though just three earned) in 5 1/3 innings of work. Tyler Conn also had a rough outing in relief, giving up four more runs while recording just one out. Rawley Bishop ripped a pair of doubles and drove in two runs in the losing effort.

The Whitecaps picked up a 9-4 win over Bowling Green in 11 innings, despite Bowling Green jumping out to an early 4-0 lead. Giovanni Soto made it just 2 1/3 innings, but was erratic, walking five while allowing one run. Nate Newman gave up the bulk of the runs in his stint, allowing three in 1 1/3 innings. From there the 'pen pitched seven innings of shutout baseball, enough to wait for the offense to finally turn it on, which it did in the 11th. Hernan Perez drove in three runs for the club, while Avisail Garcia chipped in with two hits and two runs scored. Luis Palacios also drove in a pair.
