The SeaWolves dropped their second straight on Friday, falling to Altoona 6-2 at Jerry Uht Park. Jon Kibler got roughed up as the starter, giving up six runs on six hits in 2 1/3 innings of work. While the bullpen held Altoona in check the rest of the game, the offense could manage just two solo home runs, one each from Andy Bouchie and Wilkin Ramirez.

The Flying Tigers squeezed out a 5-4 win thanks to a three run seventh inning and another strong pitching performance from Luke Putkonen. Putkonen gave up three runs over seven innings of work, with two walks and five strikeouts. Cory Hamilton pitched the final 1 2/3 innings to earn his second save with Lakeland. Kody Kaiser was the star at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double and four RBI. Julio Rodriguez, Alden Carrithers each had two hits, while Brent Wyatt added two hits and scored twice.

The VSL Tigers picked up their second win of the young season with a 7-3 triumph over the VSL Pirates. Gino Aguirre got the start but went just 1 1/3 innings before exiting. Johan Belisario came on in relief and got the win, tossing 2 2/3 innings of shutout baseball. Gabriel Tenia led the charge at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and three RBI. Raul Leiva and Jose Soledad each chipped in with two hits and two runs scored apiece.
