MiLB Recaps: Whitecaps Pick Up Lone Win

The Hens dropped a tight battle with Syracuse on Saturday, falling 3-2. Alfredo Figaro got the start and a no decision, giving up two runs (one earned) in six innings, walking three and striking out five. Scot Drucker took the loss for allowing the winning run in relief. Ryan Strieby supplied the team's only offense, blasting a two run homer.

The SeaWolves dropped both games of their doubleheader to Altoona on Saturday, falling 8-3, and then 7-3. Brooks Brown was hit hard in the opener, giving up seven runs (five earned) in just two innings of work. Michael Bertram had two hits and two RBI in the first game. Ramon Garcia didn't fare much better in the second game, giving up five runs in four innings. Jeff Kunkel had pair of RBI for the club in the losing effort.

The Flying Tigers fell again to St. Lucie on Saturday, losing 5-2. Mark Sorensen took the loss, giving up all five runs (four earned) in 6 1/3 innings of work. Brent Wyatt had three hits including a triple, while Rawley Bishop added a pair of hits and an RBI.

Victor Larez picked up a win in a high scoring affair that was a completion of Friday night's game as West Michigan won 12-10. Larez tossed three scoreless innings to earn the win, while Kenny Faulk picked up his second save. Eric Roof had three RBI for the club, while Jordan Lennerton drove in two. Jacob Turner took the loss in the second game, giving up three runs on five hits in four innings. He struck out seven and walked none though. Mike Gosse drove in the club's only run.
