The Mud Hens picked up a pair of wins in a doubleheader with Lehigh Valley on Tuesday evening. They won the first game 5-3 thanks to a Scott Sizemore walk-off home run. The shot game in the bottom of the seventh with the game tied at three, after Will Rhymes ripped a two run double to tie it. Brent Dlugach also went 2-for-3 with a solo home run. Casey Fien got the win for tossing 1 2/3 innings of relief, taking over for Ruddy Lugo, who went 5 1/3 innings, giving up three runs (one earned). L.J. Gagnier led the way in the second game, tossing five shutout innings, allowing just three hits with a walk and six strikeouts. Daniel Schlereth and Jay Sborz each pitched a scoreless inning of relief to complete the shutout. Ben Guez ripped a solo home run at the plate, while Danny Worth and Jeff Frazier each added an RBI as well.

The SeaWolves fell to Akron on Tuesday evening, losing 5-3. Brooks Brown took the loss, giving up four runs in six innings of work. Matt Hoffman added two innings of relief, giving up one more run. At the plate, Wilkin Ramirez ripped a two run homer, while Andy Dirks had two hits and scored twice.

The Flying Tigers picked up an 8-3 win over Bradenton. Luke Putkonen continued his strong pitching, giving up two runs (one earned) on seven hits in six innings of work. Lester Oliveros, Rob Waite and Tyler Conn each tossed an inning of relief to close out the game. Rawley Bishop and Billy Nowlin each ripped solo home runs, while Angel Flores chipped in with two hits and two RBI. Francisco Martinez also added a pair of hits and scored twice.

The Whitecaps wasted a strong start from Jacob Turner as West Michigan fell 8-4 to Burlington. Turner allowed three runs (but just one earned) on six hits in 5 1/3 innings of work, with five strikeouts. However, Victor Larez gave up the tying run in relief, and then Jose Ortega was hammered for four runs in 1 2/3 innings. Jordan Lennerton had two hits and two RBI for the club, while Jamie Johnson and Hernan Perez also added two hits for the club.

The DSL Tigers picked up their first win of the young season, topping the DSL Blue Jays 7-4. Brenny Paulino got the start but lasted just two innings, giving up three runs (two earned) on three hits. Alvin Acosta was strong in relief though, giving up a run in four innings of work. Walter Lachapel got the win for tossing a scoreless inning, and Jose Valdez earned the save for tossing two hitless, scoreless innings to preserve the win. Francisco Contreras and Alwin Delgado each drove in a pair of runs for the club at the plate.
