The Mud Hens were victimized by a seven run fourth inning as Rochester cruised to a win in the series finale, 12-6. Billy Buckner took the loss, giving up seven runs in four innings of work, but just three of those runs were earned as a costly error by Scott Sizemore in that big inning allowed most of the runs to cross the plate as unearned. Josh Rainwater also got roughed up in relief, giving up four runs in 1 2/3 innings. At the plate, Jeff Larish ripped a solo home run and drove in two, while Max Leon also drove in a pair of runs. Jeff Frazier's homer streak ended, but he did have a pair of doubles.

The SeaWolves just can't catch a break as another great pitching performance was wasted by a lack of run support as Erie fell to Portland 1-0. Duane Below got the start and took the loss, allowing the only run of the game in his five innings of work. Anthony Shawler and Zach Simons each tossed two scoreless innings apiece. Audy Ciriaco added two hits including a double, while Deik Scram ripped a triple, but the team went a combined 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position, and left eight men on base.

Another match-up with Daytona, and another close loss for the Flying Tigers as they fell 5-4. Charlie Furbush took the loss as he got hit around quite a bit, giving up ten hits in 4 1/3 innings. Furbush allowed all five runs, but just three were earned. Erik Crichton did toss 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. Alden Carrithers had a pair of hits including a double and two RBI, while Kody Kaiser also added a solo home run.

The Whitecaps fell 7-5 in a five inning, rain shortened contest to Lake County thanks to a late push from the Captains. Trevor Feeney took the loss and like his Tigers' brethren, was both hit around quite a bit, and victimized by some poor defense. Feeney was credited with all seven runs, but just four were earned in his four-plus innings of work. He pitched to five batters in the fifth inning when Lake County reclaimed the lead but never recorded an out. Just four of the runs were earned. At the plate, Wade Gaynor went 2-for-3 with two runs and belted a two run shot. Jamie Johnson also added a triple and scored a run.

The VSL Tigers split their doubleheader with the VSL Cardinals on Tuesday, falling in the first game 1-0 but winning the second 8-6. Johan Belisario took the loss, giving up just one run on three hits in five innings of work. The team had just three singles at the plate though. Jose Mendoza got the start in the second game, but didn't make it out of the second inning. Mendoza gave up four runs, all unearned, in 1 2/3 innings. Julio Guilarte gave the club 3 1/3 innings of scoreless relief, while Jose Rodriguez got the win. Daniel Carranza helped pace the offense with two hits, two runs and two RBI. Oscar Gomez also drove in a pair of runs.
