The Mud Hens picked up a 6-0 shutout win over Louisville on Monday, led by a strong outing from Billy Buckner. Buckner tossed eight shutout innings, scattering just four hits and one walk as he improved to 2-2 as a Mud Hen. Casey Fien pitched the ninth to close things out. Brent Dlugach had a big game at the plate, going 4-for-5 with a pair of RBI. Will Rhymes and Jeff Kunkel also each chipped in with two hits and two RBI.

The Connecticut Tigers fell to Vermont 5-3 on Monday evening. Josue Carreno got the start and took the loss for the C-Tigers, giving up five runs (three earned) on four hits in 3 1/3 innings of work. Four relievers combined to keep Vermont off the board the rest of the game, but the Connecticut offense couldn't come back. Matt Mansilla belted a solo home run for the club, while Josh Ashenbrenner added a double and an RBI.

The GCL Tigers got their season started on a down note, falling to the GCL Braves 8-2. Kyle Ryan got the start and took the loss for the club, giving up two runs but just one earned on one hit in two innings of work. Fernando Celis had a rough outing in relief, giving up four runs on six hits in two innings of work. At the plate, Juaner Aguasvivas belted a solo shot, while Edwin Gomez added two hits and an RBI.

The VSL Tigers picked up a 4-3 win over the VSL Reds on Monday in ten innings. Juan Espinoza was strong as the starter, giving up two runs (one earned) on nine hits in six innings, before handing things over to the bullpen. Jose Tablante however would allow a run and relinquish the Tigers' lead in the seventh, with the game remaining tied until the tenth when Daniel Carranza's groundout scored Erick Soto for the go ahead run. Angel Carreno got the win in relief for tossing 3 1/3 innings of shutout baseball.

The DSL Tigers lost 4-1 to the DSL Blue Jays on Monday. Benny Paulino took the loss while not even making it out of the first inning for the club. Paulino allowed two runs on two hits in 2/3 of an inning before exiting. Walter Lachapel and Jorge Medina combined to toss seven innings of shutout baseball from that point forward, but the offense still couldn't muster the tying run, and then Jose Valdez gave up a pair of runs late to give the Blue Jays a comfortable lead. Francisco Contreras led the offense, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.
