After allowing nine runs to Gwinnett on Saturday, the Hens came back and put up nine of their own on Sunday as Toledo won 9-3. Charlie Furbush got the win, giving up three runs (one earned) on just two hits, with four walks and three strikeouts. Josh Rainwater and Daniel Schlereth each earned holds, while Casey Fien recorded the final five outs for the save. Robinson Diaz led the way with two hits including a double, two runs scored and two RBI. Max Leon also chipped in with three hits, two runs and an RBI, and Casper Wells scored three times for the team.
The SeaWolves saw their three game win streak snapped as they fell to Binghamton 8-3. Brayan Villarreal took the loss but had a strong start, allowing two runs no five hits in six innings. He also walked three and struck out five. Luis Marte however was roughed up in relief, giving up five runs in 1 1/3 innings. Alden Carrithers had two hits and drove in two runs for the club, while Andy Dirks added a solo home run.
The Flying Tigers picked up a 7-5 win over St. Lucie on Sunday. Mark Sorensen picked up the win, giving up one unearned on two hits in six innings of work. He also struck out six. Wilfredo Ramirez and Dan Gentzler each allowed two runs in relief, but Jared Gayhart came on with two outs in the eighth and recorded the final four outs to preserve the win. John Murrian went 2-for-5 with a double and drove in three runs for the team, while Gustavo Nunez added two hits including a solo home run.
The Whitecaps continued to roll as they topped Dayton again, 10-7. Victor Larez didn't have a great start and picked up a no decision, allowing five runs in 4 2/3 innings of work. Zach Samuels got the win in relief, allowing two runs in 2 1/3 innings. Richard Zumaya tossed a scoreless inning of relief, while Kenny Faulk struck out the side in the ninth to earn his sixth save. Avisail Garcia went 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and two RBI, while Luis Alberto Sanz also added two hits and two RBI. Hernan Perez also drove in two runs, while Jamie Johnson added a solo home run.
The C-Tigers picked up a 3-1 win over Tri-City on Sunday. Josue Carreno picked up the win, giving up a run on three hits in six innings of work. Tim Howry tossed two scoreless innings of relief, while Logan Hoch earned the save for a scoreless ninth. P.J. Polk went 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI for the club, while Josh Ashenbrenner added a hit and an RBI.
