Andy Oliver struck out ten in 6 2/3 innings of work as Toledo picked up a 7-3 win over Columbus. Oliver yielded just two runs over that span, and just one was earned. Josh Rainwater allowed a run in two innings, while Casey Fien recorded the final out to pick up the save. At the plate, Cale Iorg went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a two run homer. Ben Guez also added two hits and an RBI.
The SeaWolves fell to Altoona again on Tuesday, night, losing 6-5. Lester Oliveros was credited with the blown save as the club entered the ninth protecting a 5-4 lead, but Oliveros allowed two runs to blow the save and take the loss. Duane Below got the start, giving up two runs on four hits in 5 1/3 innings of work. Rawley Bishop had a double and two RBI for the club, while Bryan Pounds added three hits and scored twice.
The Whitecaps fell to Great Lakes 9-3. Patrick Cooper took the loss, giving up seven runs on five hits in 4 1/3 innings. Kevan Hess and Richard Zumaya also allowed a run in relief. Wade Gaynor had a double and two RBI for the club, while Avisail Garcia chipped in with two hits. Hernan Perez drove in the club's other run.
Connecticut fell again on Tuesday, losing to Tri-City 5-4 in 11 innings. Josue Carreno got the start and gave up four runs on three hits in five innings of work. Ramon Lebron took the loss in relief, allowing an unearned run to score. In his two innings of work, he didn't allow a single hit. At the plate, James Robbins and Alexander Nunez each had two hits and an RBI, while Josh Ashenbrenner and Eric Roof each had a double and an RBI. Brett Anderson also added three hits.
The Tigers picked up a win over the GCL Blue Jays in a rain shortened game. Jeff Ferrell pitched all five innings for the team, allowing just two hits while striking out nine. Edgar Corcino had a hit and an RBI, while Pete Miller added two hits.
