Most notable thing about this lineup is the absence of Brian Dozier. (Unlike a lot of folks I guess), Gardy noticed what went on in that 8th inning last night and thought it'd be time to shut him down for a day.
The time is now: Nolasco needs to start proving his value to this team.
Ibanez hit 29 HR last year with about a 490 SLG at age 41. Only has 3'this year. The royals don't really have a place for him to play and they put a premium on defense so it's hard to see him getting ABs.
Didn't Nolasco used to throw a bit harder? The league is hitting 320 off his fastball.
Sure hope Joe M isn't going to be out long...that means another REd Wing will go up. I'm guessing Hermann again. Problem is that leaves Rochester with one catcher. Not sure they would want to recall Colabello yet...but they might have to. Twins comfortably ahead. (of course I said the same thing this afternoon when Rochester went up 13-2)
Twins seems to somehow do ok versus Shields, not sure what it is.
I do. He's not a junk-throwing lefty, so they are able to hit him.
lol - I'm assuming you're referring to Bruce Chen (and not Danny Duffy).
Was thinking about this... were you really referring to Danny Duffy?
The name "Danny Duffy" may not sound like a tough guy's name or guy that throws hard, but I can tell you the guy throws pretty well. For those that see this young man pitch, they'd know he relies on a very good fastball (I believe mid 90's, occasionally touching higher) with a nice slider and change-up. The guy has a ton of upside and I'd love to have an arm like that on our staff.
