Adam Harben was named Florida State League Pitcher of the Week for the week of August 8-14 on Tuesday, winning the award for the second time this season. Harben became only the fourth pitcher in the league to win the award multiple times, and could be in line for a call-up to Double-A New Britain sooner than expected.

Harben started two games for Fort Myers this past week, yielding just one run on six hits in 14 innings of work. The 6-foot-5 hurler capped his week by throwing a complete game three-hit shutout against Dunedin on Monday.

The 2002 15th round pick is now 8-5 on the year, and posts the fifth-best ERA in the league at 2.55. He has lost only one game since May 19, and has a 0.92 ERA in three August starts. His only bad month of the season was May, when he went 2-3, with a 4.64 ERA.

Harben, who has 105 strikeouts in 116.2 innings, is handcuffing batters to the tune of a .195 batting average. He has been specifically stingy to right-handed batters, holding them to a .177 clip. Overall, Harben is becoming a top prospect within the organization.

The complete game on Monday was his second of the year, as he also threw a complete game gem against Brevard County on July 17. In that game, Harben allowed no earned runs on five hits, and struck out six.

Prior to the 2005 season, Baseball America ranked Harben the number 11 prospect in the Twins organization. In 2004, the fire-baller went 9-7 for Quad Cities of the Midwest League, and posted a 3.09 ERA in 26 starts.
