Woodard's solo home run in the third inning gave the Snappers a 1-0 lead, one that they would never relinquish. Slugging third baseman David Winfree then drove in a run in the bottom of the fifth, before Wisconsin scored their first and only run in the seventh inning.
Woodard again answered the bell, as he hit his second home run, a two-run shot in the bottom half of the frame. Beloit would then go on to score four in the eighth, completely taking away any hope for the Timber Rattlers.
In that inning, Winfree hit a three-run home run, his 16th of the season, and Javi Sanchez scored on a wild pitch. The Snappers needed a win in this game, and a Kane County loss, and they got both to secure their playoff berth.
Winfree has been the big bat in the lineup all season, as he ended the regular season with a .294 batting average, and 101 RBI. The next batter closest to him in RBI was Deacon Burns, who finished the year with 78.
Morlan went five innings in picking up the win, allowing one earned run, while striking out seven.
