The Twins made some roster moves on Monday, cutting their active roster to 51. The Twins either reassigned or optioned eight players, including four pitchers, and four position players. The Twins still have to shave their roster to 25 before Opening Day, and will likely make more cuts later in the week.
Pitchers Ricky Barrett (Rochester), Alexander Smit (Fort Myers), Oswaldo Sosa (New Britain), and Brad Voyles were cut, with Voyles being the only one reassigned to Minor League camp. Barrett, Smit, and Sosa will join their teams on Monday.
Catcher Jeff Christy, Korey Feiner, and Jose Morales were all reassigned, as well as infielder Gil Velazquez. Velazquez worked with Rochester, as did Morales on Monday. The Minor League camp is in full swing, and will being playing games on Thursday.
