Revere Plans To Sign Early

With their first round selection in the 2007 draft, the Minnesota Twins selected high school outfielder Ben Revere. A speedster, Revere is a great centerfielder, who is an extra-base hit machine.

With the 28th overall selection in the 2007 First Year Player Draft, the Minnesota Twins selected speedster Ben Revere from Lexington Catholic High School in Kentucky. A two-sport All-Stater, Revere has expressed he wants to go pro, so it was a great selection by the Twins. In his career, Revere set a Kentucky state record by smacking 28 triples.

Last Fall, Revere signed with the University of Georgia on a baseball scholarship. Dick Robinson, Revere's agent, said that the Twins had made a pre-draft deal with Revere that will include a handsome bonus.

This past season, Revere hit .517 for Lexington Catholic, scoring 57 times while driving in 48. He is the school's all-time leader in batting average (.489), doubles (45), and is the state leader in triples.
