Twins Prospect Power Rankings

Here is the latest TwinCitiesDugout.com Prospect Power Rankings. While our top prospect stays the same, some players are really starting to blaze up the charts. This is not a list of the best prospects in the organization, but rather who is playing the best right now.

1 Kevin Slowey ROC Some have said that Slowey looks human lately, but when you have an earned run average under 2.00, you are far more than just having a good season.  In his last two outings, Slowey has allowed only two earned runs, and has struck out five. Steady
         
2 Jeff Manship FTM Manship made one start in his team's last ten games, and did not last very long.  He went 4.1 innings, only struck out one, and walked three.  Still, Manship has been one of the best starters in the Minors this season. Steady
         
3 Danny Valencia FTM Valencia has looked pretty human at the plate lately, and is going through a little mini-slump.  He is batting only .265 over his last ten games, and has driven in only four. Steady
         
4 Trevor Plouffe NBR Plouffe had ten hits in his last ten games, and is now one of the top-five in the Eastern League in hits this season.  Still very young for Double-A, Plouffe is back in top prospect status. Rising
         
5 Yohan Pino NBR Pino has been stellar since being promoted to New Britain, and was nearly lights out in his last two games.  In those starts, Pino has struck out 13 batters in 13 innings, and has only allowed one earned run. Rising
         
6 Oswaldo Sosa NBR Sure Sosa has lost his last two starts, but it has been because of a lack of run support.  Sosa has struck out 13 batters in his last 13 innings, and has allowed only four earned run combined. Rising
         
7 Brian Dinkelman FTM It has been a breakout season for Dinkelman this year, though he has not hit well during his last ten games.  He is batting only .256 over that span, and has driven in only two earned runs. Steady
         
8 Robert Delaney FTM The move to the Florida State League has not done any harm to Delaney's season, as he has been dominant for the Miracle as well.  In his last four outings, Delaney has picked up one save, and has allowed only one earned run while striking out nine in seven innings. Rising
         
9 Steven Tolleson FTM Tolleson has been raking for the Fort Myers Miracle, and was recently named TwinCitiesDugout.com Player of the Month.  In his last ten games, Tolleson is batting .325, and has racked up 13 hits. Rising
         
10 Anthony Swarzak NBR Swarzak has been hit some during his last two starts, but he is still displaying the uncanny ability to strike batters out.  He has shaken off early season problems, and now ranks as one of the top righties in the organization once again. Steady
         
11 Jose Morales ROC Morales continues to hit for the Red Wings, and is leading the International League in batting.  Now a legitimate catching prospect, Morales has batted over .300 during his last ten starts, and has scored four times. Rising
         
12 Garrett Guzman NBR Guzman may be the hottest hitter in the organization right now, batting over .400 through his last ten games.  He is having a great season, and is truly a remarkable story. Rising
         
13 Tyler Robertson BEL Tyler Robertson has been on fire for the Beloit Snappers lately, and was the best pitcher in the organization in July.  He is 2-0 in his last two starts, and has struck out 15 batters in a 11.2 innings of work. Blazing
         
14 Jay Rainville FTM Rainville looks to be back into form, and has been incredible as of late for the Miracle.  The young right-hander has struck out 11 in his last 14 innings of work, and has allowed only two earned runs. Rising
         
15 Rashad Eldridge NBR No slowing down for Eldridge, as the outfielder has proved to be a huge off-season pick up.  Eldridge has been great playing everyday for the Rock Cats, and is now a top outfielder in the organization. Rising
         
16 Matt Tolbert ROC Matt Tolbert is nearly a call to the Major Leagues, as he is once again heating up in the International League.  In his last ten games, Tolbert has batted .342, and has scored five times. Rising
         
17 Nick Blackburn ROC Blackburn has returned from his injury, but he was shelled in his first outing back.  Blackburn allowed two earned runs in only three innings of work the last time out, but he did strike out two. Falling
         
18 Timothy Lahey NBR Lahey has been lights out coming out of the New Britain bullpen this season, and he continues to dominate lately.  In his last four appearances, Lahey has a save and a win, and has allowed only one earned run. Steady
         
19 Joe Benson BEL Now is the time for Benson to step up.  He is riding a great hot streak at the plate lately, and looks very locked in.  He is batting .389 over his last ten games, and is starting to break his Sophomore jinx. Rising
         
20 Alex Burnett BEL This kid really has a rubber arm, and has teamed with Cole Devries and Robertson to for a nice three-man punch in the Beloit rotation.  He has been hit hard lately, but still continues to impress. Steady
         
21 Brian Duensing ROC Duensing has won his last two starts, and is one of the winningest pitchers in Minor League Baseball this season.  In his last two starts, Duensing has allowed only two earned runs, and has struck out 11 in 12 games. Rising
         
22 Bobby Korecky ROC Korecky has saved three more games in his last five appearances, and has picked up a win.  The right-hander has allowed some earned runs, but remains the top reliever in the International League. Rising
         
23 Matthew Moses NBR The demotion to New Britain looked like a smart move a few weeks ago, but now Moses is struggling once again.  The third baseman is hitting only .200 in his last ten games, and has not hit a home run. Falling
         
24 Denard Span ROC Watch out now, because Denard Span is heating up in the International League.  The centerfielder is batting .314 over his last ten games, and is starting to turn his season around. Rising
         
25 Brandon Roberts NBR For a while there, Roberts was one of the hottest hitters in the organization.  However, he is slumping once again for the Rock Cats, and is batting under .250 over his last ten games. Rising
