Twins Minor League Transactions

Since March 30, the Minnesota Twins have been shuttling players all around their system, and TCD Senior Writer Matthew Stucko gives us a breakdown of all the moves. Take a look at this past week's transactions.

May 6, 2009

Alexi Casilla: optioned to Triple-A Rochester. Casilla hit .167 (14-for-84) in 24 games played this season for the Twins. Infielder Matt Tolbert was called up to the Twins and will fill his spot on the 25-man roster.

May 4, 2009

Allan de San Miguel: reassigned to Single-A Beloit. The Australian native played in seven games for Double-A New Britain this season hitting .190.

Jeff Christy: assigned to Double-A New Britain. Christy, a former sixth round selection by Minnesota in 2006, played in seven games for Triple-A Rochester of the International League before being sent to Double-A New Britain. Christy has spent time catching with New Britain during the past two seasons.

May 3, 2009

Jose Morales: sent to Triple-A Rochester. Morales, while taking over the catcher's position in Joe Mauer's absence, hit .340 (16-for47) in 19 games played this season for the Twins.

May 1, 2009

Juan Morillo: sent to Triple-A Rochester. Morillo, who was claimed off waivers from the Rockies in April , appeared in three games for the Twins this season. He gave five runs on three hits and three walks in two innings pitched.

April 30, 2009

Joe Gaetti: traded to the Texas Rangers Double-A Frisco Roughriders for a player to be named. Gaetti, the son of former Twins player Gary Gaetti, saw action in only one game last year with New Britain due to injury after being traded from the Oakland Athletics. The twenty-seven year old outfielder hit .139 in 36 at-bats over nine games for the Rock Cats this season.
