Sox Make Minor Deal with Colorado

In a minor move with the Colorado Rockies, the White Sox traded left-handed minor league pitcher Wade Parrish for lefty hitting first baseman/outfielder Ross Gload.

Gload, who will turn 27 on Saturday, was assigned to Triple-A Charlotte. At Triple-A Colorado Springs last season, he batted .314 with 16 home runs and 71 RBIs in 104 games. Gload played in 26 games with the Rockies, batting .258 with four RBIs.

Parrish, 25, posted a 4.67 ERA in 88 2/3 innings (14 starts) last season for Triple-A Charlotte.
